Strong winds have battered Nottingham overnight - and gusts could reach 70 miles per hour on Saturday.
The Met Office has extended a yellow weather warning for wind, which will be in place until 2pm on Saturday.
The chief weather forecaster said: "The deep area of low pressure is moving away from the far north of Scotland, leaving west to northwesterly gales in its wake across many central and northern parts of the UK.
"Gusts of 60 mph are likely and locally 70 mph near any squally showers."
Winds are likely to ease during the afternoon, but people are being warned of potential travel disruption due to the gales.
Trains between Nottingham and Manchester were disrupted due to a fallen tree on the line between Sheffield and Manchester.
