It has been described as "the worst pitch you'll ever see in professional football" and a "shambles" and this weekend Nottingham Forest will aim to make it three wins in the space of eight days at basement side Blackpool.
And boss Dougie Freedman may want to take a leaf out of Aitor Karanka's book if he is to maintain his perfect start to life in the Reds hot-seat when his side do battle at Bloomfield Road.
The Middlesbrough manager made changes in the way his side played on Tuesday night, in order to combat the affects of the poor pitch, and they were rewarded with a 2-1 win to move to the top of the Championship.
"It was a massive win because in Spain we say that in these pitches is where you can achieve biggest success," said Karanka.
"It's impossible to play football on that pitch. For that reason I thought to change our shape and style because it was impossible to play and I said in my press conference before the game that I wasn't going to say any excuses if we have lost the game, but we won and for me I think I don't know who can have a solution.
"I think it's a lack of respect for the people who are paying a ticket to watch a game, especially this crowd who pay their money to support the team."
Blackpool head into the game with Forest with four defeats in their last five games and even boss Lee Clark is not one to readily defend the Seasiders' playing surface, admitting after the Boro loss: "On a very tough pitch we've gone and matched Middlesbrough in every aspect of the game.
"We didn't let Middlesbrough get a head of steam. We knew it would be difficult for them because they've got some fantastic footballers. Obviously the pitch isn't made for playing good football."
