A 40-year-old man has appeared at Nottingham Crown Court charged in connection with his father's death.
Vito Difina, 40, of Cavendish Road, Carlton, is accused of grievous bodily harm.
It relates to an incident where police were called to a house in Cliff Road, Carlton, on September 10.
His father, Giuseppe Difina, 68, was taken to hospital but died on September 13.
The opening of an inquest into his death heard that the interim cause of death was stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.
Vito Difina's case will next be listed for mention at the crown court on February 15. A provisional trial date has been set for March 18.
He was further remanded in custody.
