A man has been charged with manslaughter after a pensioner died following an attack at his home.
Colin Hall, 76, died in hospital after the attack at his home in Cornerpin Drive, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, near Mansfield, on the evening of February 10.
It is thought he might have been attacked during a botched robbery.
Nottinghamshire Police have charged 39-year-old Scott Kennedy with manslaughter in connection with the death.
Kennedy, of Hill View Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, is also charged with attempted robbery and a firearms offence in relation to the death of Mr Hall, Nottinghamshire Police said.
A 33-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the death has been bailed pending further inquiries, a force spokeswoman said.
Two other men arrested earlier as part of the investigation were released without charge last week.
