MORE than 150 jobs will be up for grabs at the Nottingham Post Jobs Fair next Wednesday.
So far around 19 organisations have booked stalls for the fair and will be offering job vacancies as well as CV advice, apprenticeships and training.
The event will be held at Trent Bridge cricket ground from 10am until 3pm and offers the opportunity for people seeking work or a career change to chat to recruitment organisations, training firms and large businesses.
Last year's event saw more than 2,500 people seeking work attend in search of tips and guidance and similar numbers are expected this year.
Futures Nottingham, In Training and Avon will be among the attendees, as well as Job Centre Plus, the RAF and New College Nottingham.
Another of the exhibitors is the Ardagh Group, a metal and glass manufacturing company which has a base at Sutton-in-Ashfield, which will be offering 60 jobs at the fair. The jobs are available because its site in Wales has recently closed and all the production lines from there will be moving to Sutton-in-Ashfield.
HR advisor at Ardagh, Danielle Wardle encouraged people looking for a job to attend the fair.
She said: "We will have 60 jobs on offer. Ardagh operates in 25 countries and employs around 18,000 people worldwide so we're a big company.
"Because of the recent site closure many jobs have come up at Sutton in production. "The new employees will be working on the production of tins and aerosols. We will give tips and advice at the fair about what is needed for a job at Ardagh, so I would certainly encourage people to come along."
Another exhibitor is Nottingham Futures, a not-for-profit organisation which offers careers and training advice.
Michelle Wright, operations director at Futures, said: "Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures is attending the event and will be able to advise members of the public about its extensive range of careers services for young people and adults.
"Whether you are unemployed and need advice, returning to work or study, looking for a career change, want more information about education, apprenticeships, courses or training we can help."
A spokesperson for NCN also encouraged people to attend.
They said: "People should visit New College Nottingham's stand and talk to our knowledgeable team about the wide range of excellent training opportunities, including our latest course and apprenticeship vacancies."
Danny Gilbert, the Post's Senior Account Manager, said: "If you are currently seeking employment, then this is a fantastic opportunity to meet potential employers face to face with a minimum of 150 live vacancies available along with additional supporting organisations which offer training.
"It was a massive success last year with 2,500 people attending and we're hoping for just as many this year."
Job seeker Harley Moores, 20, of the city centre, said he thought the fair was a good idea.
He said: "I lost my job as a hairdresser a couple of weeks ago so went straight to Futures who have helped me with my CV and now I have an interview coming up.
"The job's fair sounds like a good idea for job hunters like me."
