NOTTS County say they have not yet interviewed anybody for the top job at Meadow Lane.
The Magpies sacked Keith Curle as boss two-and-a-half weeks ago and fans are waiting to see if they are going to give it to caretaker-manager Chris Kiwomya permanently.
The club's chief executive, Jim Rodwell, has told the Post he expects Kiwomya to be in charge when Notts face Bury at Meadow Lane in League One on Friday night (7.45pm).
And he also stressed Notts are considering other managers for the job as they try to put the right man in the hot-seat to lead the club into the Championship.
"Chris is in charge of the first team and that is the way that it will remain until he is told otherwise," revealed Rodwell.
"We have not interviewed anyone for the position at this stage.
"We are taking our time, considering our options and will make a decision from there. But I fully expect Chris to be in charge on Friday night when we play Bury."
Kiwomya has been in temporary charge of the Magpies for three games – and is still looking for his first win.
They lost 2-0 at Stevenage just 24 hours after he took over from Curle and have drawn their last two games 1-1 against Crewe and Walsall.
A victory against Bury in two days' time could help his chances of getting the manager's job permanently.
"It would be nice to get the first win, but it doesn't worry me too much because the performance levels have been there," said Kiwomya.
"I thought we were good against Stevenage, but we didn't have the end product, and we were the better team in the second half against both Crewe and Walsall.
"We've just missed chances and not had a slice of luck."
