TWO burglars have been jailed after one faked a heart attack and got his victim to drive him to the doctor.
Wesley Smith and Carol Taylor were in the process of ransacking their victim's home when she pulled up outside.
Smith, 34, of no fixed address, walked up to her before she could even get out of the car, clutched his chest and said he was in pain, Nottingham Crown Court heard, in a bid to stop her entering the house.
The woman took him to a doctors to get checked over - before setting off back to her property in Kingsway, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, last October.
Smith even thanked her and said "it's not many people would do that for a stranger". Meanwhile, Smith's co-accused, 36-year-old Carol Taylor, of Beaumont Walk, Leicester, finished ransacking the woman's house.
Today they were given two years each in prison after they admitted the break-in.
Judge Nigel Godsmark QC said it was a "very sophisticated distraction".
