M ORE employers have signed up for the Nottingham Post's latest jobs fair – and it means there will be more than 300 positions available for jobseekers.

The event takes place next Wednesday at Trent Bridge cricket ground.

So far 21 different stands have been confirmed for the event – 16 of which are businesses offering jobs.

The others are colleges and training providers.

Danny Gilbert, senior key account manager for recruitment at the Nottingham Post, said: "Last year 70% of stands were colleges and training providers, this year there are a lot more businesses.

"It means we are carrying a lot more jobs. We already have more than 300 jobs on offer."

Those attending will be offering job vacancies as well as CV advice, apprenticeships and training. Those attending so far are:

Businesses: The Ardagh Group, Job Centre; Avon, XMA, Stirling Healthcare, Thera Trust, First Response Finance, Priority Healthcare, Global Resources Forever, Jam Marketing, the RAF, Navy, Notts Police, Midland HR, Marketing Solutions, Utility Warehouse.

Training/Apprenticeships: Futures, In Training, East Midland Care Training, Stephenson College, New College Nottingham.

The event is from 10am until 3pm and offers people seeking work or a career change the chance to chat to recruitment organisations and businesses.

Last year more than 2,500 people attended and similar numbers are expected this year.

Ardagh Group, a metal and glass manufacturing company which has a base at Sutton-in-Ashfield, will be offering 60 jobs at the fair.

Its site in Wales has recently closed and all the production lines will be moving to Sutton-in-Ashfield.
