A SERIAL amateur television star is making another appearance on screen – with an entry in a culinary competition.
Tomasz Wisniewski has appeared on a host of TV programmes and will be featured in Channel 4's Come Dine With Me next week.
The show runs from Monday to Friday, with five guests from Notts cooking for each other and scoring their efforts.
The 28-year-old, from the Broxtowe Estate, said: "It was brilliant and it was fantastic to be involved. When I applied, I pretended I was good at cooking and I got through – but I've never cooked for anybody.
"I asked my grandma and she gave me loads of recipes, so I had to learn to cook.
"I liked it but when I was cooking, everything was going wrong, so I was just pretending it was supposed to be that way.
"Meeting five strangers was really good. They were really nice people. I really like them and I think we will meet up actually."
Although Tomasz has to keep his menu a closely-guarded secret, he said he produced old-fashioned Polish cuisine.
He added: "It's traditional food, the traditional way of making it. It's basically camping food.
"To be honest, I didn't know whether the guests liked it."
Tomasz has also appeared on BBC3 show Snog, Marry, Avoid? – where people are given a makeover and judged on their attractiveness – so his time in front of the cameras was not daunting.
In August last year, he won his round of BBC show Total Wipeout, where contestants tackle a giant assault course.
He has also appeared on Polish Viva Channel's Hot or Not programme, where contestants' looks are judged.
The 28-year-old, who is originally from Wadowice, near Krakow, said his dream was to pursue a career in showbiz.
He added: "I left my country when I was 15 years old. I couldn't speak any English.
"One of my dreams is to be a TV presenter.
"I know how hard it is, but you've got to have a dream. At least I've tried."
Tomasz, who works as a dealer at the Alea casino, in Upper Parliament Street, said his friends had reacted well to his fame.
He added: "Everyone is giving me a lot of support. I never take my life too seriously. Life's too short to be boring. I'm enjoying my life as much as I can.
Tomasz has found recent times difficult because his mother passed away a year ago and just three months ago he lost his grandmother.
He said: "She won't be able to see it and she was everything to me. I would like to dedicate it to her."
