LIGHT snow flurries across the county over the weekend made temperatures feel much colder than they were – and the chilly weather is set to continue though the week.
People woke up to smatterings of snow on their cars, gardens and patios on Sunday – and the same was being forecast for today.
Met office forecaster Helen Roberts said the weather was not set to change over the next couple of days for Notts.
She said: "There is not a huge amount of change in the pipeline, unfortunately.
"The weather for today and tomorrow in Notts will remain cold and cloudy with a few light snowy flurries."
She said Saturday felt very cold due to the east and north-easterly winds across the county and a light dusting of snow in places, with temperatures not getting above two degrees.
She added: "Sunday was much the same, with temperatures only getting just above two degrees in some parts of the county. Today looks set to remain very cold under the cloud. Any precipitation might be a touch sleety but there will be very little of it."
She added that temperatures would rise towards the end of the week, but not drastically.
"By Friday, temperatures will have climbed a little bit each day and might reach five or six degrees by the end of the week.
"But it will still feel cold and there will still be a lot of cloud around."
Katie Hoole, 23, who lives in the city centre, said: "It's been absolutely freezing over the last few days and the snow in the air has made it feel even colder.
"I'm not surprised that it has only been two degrees – it feels colder.
"I went out on Saturday night for a few drinks in the city centre and I was very cold. I hope it gets warmer soon."
And 21-year-old Claire Jones, of Kimberley, said she had avoided going out over the weekend.
The shop worker said: "I've stayed in this weekend, purely because I hate the cold and I was freezing waiting at the bus stop after work on Friday.
"It just puts you off going outside. I hate this time of year, although I'm happy to hear the end of the week won't be as cold."
