NOTTINGHAM City Council is set to buy a £21,000 machine to help in the fight against dog mess. The council already has two specialist dog fouling vehicles that are sent out to tackle the problem – a 4x4 called Fido and a specially-adapted motorcycle called Poover. And the authority will be adding a second Fido to the fleet at a cost of £21,592. The council has said the current Fido machine has been very successful and that another machine is needed given the number of dog fouling incidents in the city. The extra Fido machine will improve the speed at which dog mess can be cleared up and could be on the streets from next month.
