I CAN'T wait for tomorrow night, to finally get down to the City Ground – after being stuck in the house since having knee surgery.
I've missed it. And a lot has happened in the last few weeks with Billy Davies returning as manager and the Reds returning to form.
I will be hobbling around on crutches but that won't stop me getting down and after watching on the television on Saturday, I am optimistic. I liked what I saw.
It was tremendous in the 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday. To a man, I thought it was a fantastic performance from the whole team and in the first-half in particular, it could not be faulted.
I know I can be critical and get frustrated by performances but I have to say it was a delight to watch.
The goalkeeper Karl Darlow was excellent, Elliott Ward was rock solid at the heart of the defence and Chris Cohen again impressed at left-back. He got forward well and put in a couple of very telling crosses, which is what you want to see.
In midfield Andy Reid and Henri Lansbury continue to look dangerous and Adlene Guedioura performed well sitting in that hole, but he does need to concentrate for 90 minutes.
His natural instinct is to get on the front foot, to be clever with the ball, look to be attack-minded and maybe do a few tricks.
But he is there to hold, to break up play, to move the ball on. Yes, there will be times he can play that defence-splitting pass but, all in all, he is Billy Davies' enforcer.
He is what John McGovern was to us all those years back, to what Paul McKenna was for Davies during his first spell in charge at the City Ground.
At the moment, Guedioura does it well but then has that lapse, where he looks to beat a man too many and tries to be too clever. It is about taming that side, concentrating on the task ahead for 90 minutes because if he does that, Davies has one hell of a player in that role on his hands.
But the performance worked. I heard Jonathan Greening talk about a kind of 'fear factor' the manager brings that will help drive them up the table.
I can see where he is coming from. Davies is like Marmite. You either love him or hate him and in the Forest camp, they love him.
He has that tiger in him, that zip about his character and whereas the team were knocking the ball about under Sean O'Driscoll, it lacked purpose. It was not getting the end result.
Now the team looks hungry in possession and there is energy to the passing, urgency and it is all quicker, sharper and the ball is getting into dangerous areas quickly. When Forest break, you can see the opposition thinking 'oh no' and rushing just to try to get as many men back behind the ball as possible.
That is what Davies has brought to the table and it is no surprise, with the players he has at his disposal, he is getting the best out of them as quickly as he has done.
Three wins on the bounce and the play-offs are in reach with 11 games to go. Of course it is possible.
Performances like Saturday against a club like Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough have certainly whetted the appetite of me and the fans.
But also the players will believe. They will be buying into the Billy Davies way of thinking even more now and the belief will be there that anything can happen.
For me, it will just be nice to see them pass the ball with purpose and with pace, something I have been calling for all season.
There might be a spring in the step of the players, I just wish I could say the same for me but it will take a while yet for me to get over my knee operation. I won't be running for a while, that's for sure!
But, crutches to hand, I will be at the City Ground tomorrow night to watch them take on Ipswich.
And I hope to see more of the same from the lads.
