NOTTINGHAM Forest must find a plan B to help them re-ignite their promotion push, says skipper Danny Collins.
The defender believes opposition sides have quickly become attuned to Forest's strengths.
And, as they prepare to face table-topping Cardiff today, he warns many will come to the City Ground with the primary intention of stopping Forest playing their brand of football.
But Collins says the onus is now on them to find new ways to break down the opposition and exert their influence on games, as they look to build on the win they secured at Peterborough before the international break.
"It is too easy to say that we started well and then suffered a blip. It is not that simple," said Collins.
"Teams have seen videos of us, they have seen us dominate games, they have seen us playing the ball out from the back.
"I don't think we are one of the biggest sides, not if you take Dexter out of our front line. So teams will try to make us kick long and pick up the second balls from that.
"They won't want us to be playing it out from the back. They will know we have so many players who can hurt teams with passes.
"It is up to us to do what we do well and ensure that, regardless of what the opposition try to do, we can hurt them.
"But we do need to work on our plan B if things are not working."
Collins admits Forest's new-look side has not always fired on all cylinders so far.
"We have not always reached the standards we showed in those early games," he said. "And when that happens, it is easy for people to say you are suffering a blip.
"But that will happen to most teams. I don't think Manchester United or Manchester City will play every single game in a season to their fullest potential.
"We have to get back to the standards we know we can play at.
"Even Blackburn came here for a draw. We camped in their half during the second half.
"But we were getting back to playing some good football and we continued that against Peterborough, when we created a lot of chances.
"We have to continue that against Cardiff."
