JOSS Labadie could still have a future at Notts County, says boss Chris Kiwomya.

The 22-year-old midfielder looks set to see out the last few months of his Magpies contract on loan at League Two strugglers Torquay United.

But Kiwomya insists the move does not definitely spell the end to his career at Meadow Lane.

Labadie only joined Notts last summer on a one-year deal that included an option of another year, but he has started just four league games this season and Kiwomya says he was unhappy at the club.

"He's had a frustrating season because he has not played a lot of games and he wanted to go out on loan," he said.

"But Joss is a good player, I like him.

"He's wholehearted and committed, but he wanted game time.

"I said he was only going to be on the bench at this time and I thought I'd be fair to the lad rather than keep an unhappy player on the bench.

"You want a happy camp, first and foremost.

"You want players who feel for the cause.

"I think he does, but he has been frustrated for a lot of the season because he's come here and I don't think the fans have seen him play a lot of games."

Having already loaned out Gavin Mahon to Stevenage and now Labadie, Kiwomya hopes it has freed up some cash for him to dip into the transfer market to bolster his team for the last ten games of the season.

"With Joss and Gavin Mahon both going out there might be a little bit there hopefully," he said.

Kiwomya is also ready to give more young players a chance in the first team, after defender Haydn Hollis stepped in and impressed in their 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient at Meadow Lane on Wednesday night.

"If they deserve the chance, they will get it," said Kiwomya. "They have got to do it in training and show they are as good as everybody else."
