A 61-YEAR-OLD man is in hospital after an attack outside an Ilkeston shop.
The assault happened at about 7.55am at Sue's Off Licence on the corner of John Street.
John Street is currently cordoned off to traffic and there are a number of police including scientific support at the scene.
The injured man has been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where he remains in a stable condition, according to officers.
