ZOMBIES will invade Nottingham as part of a live action game.
2.8 Hours Later Asylum will arrive in the city tomorrow as part of a national tour.
The game sets up a scenario of a city under siege from zombie attackers and challenges players to navigate their way to certain points in the city armed with just a map.
Player must make it to each location without being caught by zombies that prowl the streets.
The game is based on the game 2.8 Hours Later, by game designers Slingshot, which is now in its fourth year and has been played by 20,000 people.
Slingshot co-founder and director Simon Evans said the overhaul of the game makes it more current.
"We felt it was the right time to give the game an overhaul," he said.
"On one level, we've had to introduce new safety features and so wanted to re-design the fear factor to counter that. But we also wanted to address the deeper economic and political crisis the country is facing.
"The zombie apocalypse was inspired by a return to Tory cuts and the misery they brought. Now we're almost four years on and we're still in recession. The zombie infection is the recession, and the culpability, corruption, greed and violence it engenders is the world we live in now."
2.8 Hours Later Asylum will be in Nottingham from tomorrow to Saturday, March 23 from 7pm each day. The game ends with a zombie disco.
