Bracken Hill School, Kirkby in Ashfield - Due to potential transport issues caused by the snow and the prediction that it will continue all day, Bracken Hill School will be closed today, Friday, 22 March 2013 to both staff and pupils.

The Dukeries Academy, Newark - Due to the current weather conditions and forecast for the rest of the day the Principal of The Dukeries Academy has decided for safety reasons to close the Academy today. All pupils and all staff should not travel to the Academy today.
Eastlands Junior School, Mansfield - School will be closed today to staff and pupils due to the amount of snow that has fallen already and the poor weather conditions which have been forecast for the rest of the day. Kimberley Primary & Nursery School, Kimberley - School is open for children who's parents cannot find alternative provision. School will be run by those staff who can get to and from work safely.
King Edward Primary School and Nursery, Mansfield - Will be closed today due to the snow and the forecast for more significant snowfall through the day. Y5 pupils should still go to Brunts as planned. A text will be sent to Y5 if this changes. Staff need not attend.

Overnight temperatures struggled to reach 0c and the county saw 4cm of snowfall.
The freezing temperatures are likely to continue throughout the day and into tomorrow with more snow predicted.
