MANSFIELD TOWN are appealing for volunteers to help clear snow off their pitch at the One Call Stadium from 9.15am tomorrow morning, ahead of the Stags' proposed game with Macclesfield Town (3pm).
Willing volunteers are asked to report to the main reception on Quarry Lane at the above time and ask for Mike Merriman, head groundsman. Brushes and wheelbarrows should be brought to help clear the snow from both the pitch and stands, if possible.
Mike Merriman said: "I'm working closely with Tina & Paul Broughton (Operations Directors) and we have procedures in place to do as much as we can to try and get the game on."
Manager Paul Cox added: "We'll be doing all we can to get the fixture on for tomorrow. Depending on the forecast, we will be very hopeful that the game can go ahead."
Frost covers were placed on the pitch on Wednesday and are currently protecting the playing surface from an inch of snow.
Mansfield Town's away match at Wrexham will now be played on Thursday, April 4 (7.45pm).
The fixture, originally scheduled for last Tuesday, was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
