BILLY Davies hopes to have Adlene Guedioura back to face Blackpool this weekend – after admitting he was disappointed by the performance of his Nottingham Forest team at Burnley.

The Reds boss made six changes to the team at Turf Moor, as he looked to inject some fresh legs following the epic clash with Brighton on Saturday.

But Forest responded with a disjointed, disappointing display in which they produced their best football only fleetingly.

Guedioura and defender Sam Hutchinson were both left out of the squad altogether, on a day when it took a late penalty from Lewis McGugan to preserve the club's nine-match unbeaten run since the Scotsman returned for a second spell as manager.

Guedioura's exclusion was on medical advice, after the Algerian international was left suffering concussion following an off-the-ball clash with the Seagulls' Dean Hammond.

But the midfielder, who has been an integral figure this season, particularly since slotting into his defensive role in front of the back four, is likely to be brought straight back into the side at the City Ground on Saturday, as Forest look to get back to winning ways.

"Adlene had concussion and we were advised by the doctors not to play him," said Davies. "We'll hopefully get approval for him to start training this week.

"We also had to leave Sam Hutchinson out of the squad, because he was very, very stiff having played his first game in months (against Brighton)

"We had to leave them both out, unfortunately. We were forced to make changes."

Davies admits the fact that he was able to make six changes does demonstrate the depth of his squad – but also hinted that he will be ready to make changes again ahead of the visit of the Tangerines.

"Exactly, it did (demonstrate the depth)," said Davies. "We did make changes, we brought in Guy Moussi for Pep, we had a different two up front, we had to make changes.

"I was expecting a bigger impact from those changes. I was expecting more energy, more passion and, quite simply, I was disappointed with what we got.

"I was pleased with the point. We try to get the best out of this team and we will see where it will take us."
