POLLS have closed for two by-elections to Nottingham City Council.
People living in the Bilborough ward and the Wollaton East and Lenton Abbey ward have been voting with the ballot boxes opening at 7am and closing at 10pm.
The result is expected to be in at around midnight.
The elections were held to fill two vacant seats on Nottingham City Council, following the death of Bilborough councillor Derek Cresswell and resignation of Wollaton East and Lenton Abbey councillor Stuart Fox.
Standing for the Bilborough ward were David Bishop (Elvis Loves Pets Party), Katharina Boettge (Green Party), John Calvert (Liberal Democrats), Ian Culley (Conservative), Irenea Marriott (UKIP) and Wendy Smith (Labour).
Standing for the Wollaton East and Lenton Abbey ward were Jeanna Parton (Conservative), Tony Sutton (Liberal Democrats), Andrew Taylor (UKIP) and Sam Webster (Labour).
