A TOTAL of 213 operations were cancelled at Nottingham's hospitals in one month, new figures show.
The cancellations in February equate to 3.1 per cent of the 6,922 planned operations that did take place that month.
The figure was revealed in the latest Nottingham University Hospital's Trust board papers. The month previously 204 operations were cancelled.
The hospital said the main reason for on the day cancellations was because other more seriously ill patients had to be prioritised, and there has been a lack of available beds in critical care.
Nottingham University Hospitals Trust has vastly reduced the number of operations it has to cancel after it was ranked as the worst performing trust in this area.
