A STREET dealer from the Broxtowe Estate was spared custody today after peddling cannabis from sweet tins stored in his bedroom.
Police searched grandad David Clark's home in Honiton Road on August 22 last year.
They found nearly 100 grams of cannabis in two sweet tins and bags.
Text messages on his mobile phone revealed he was supplying cannabis at a low level to others, Nottingham Crown Court heard.
Clark had admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply and supplying the drug.
The contract worker was given an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and 150 hours of work in the community.
He has two previous convictions for possessing cannabis with intent to supply from 1998 and 2006.
The judge took into account on this occasion that 48-year-old Clark, who looks after his one-year-old grandson, had pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.
