A 14-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash.
The cyclist was travelling near Cauldwell Wood on the A617 in Sutton-in-Ashfield just before 1.30pm today when he was in a collision with a Honda Jazz.
He was air-lifted to the Queen's Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.
The 72-year-old driver of the car was shaken but unharmed. No one else was injured.
The road is expected to remain closed in both directions for most of the afternoon between the A60 and Hamilton Road while police conduct their enquiries.
