AN expanding business has moved into new premises in Nottingham in a deal secured by property consultancy Innes England, acting jointly with FHP.
Better Languages offers translation services between English and all major world languages and uses a network of more than 400 translators in 38 countries. The business has moved from Bingham, where it has operated for the past eight years, to new offices at Poplars Court, Lenton.
The move follows a successful trading period for the company, which has been established for more than 30 years.
In 2008-9, the business grew by 173% against a background of global recession. Mike Hunter, of Better Languages, said: "We have experienced strong growth over the last few years, with 20011-12 being our best ever financial year.
"The move to Poplars Court is a good investment and will allow for continued growth while positioning us close to Nottingham city centre and with good access to our national client base.
"In choosing to relocate to Poplars Court, developments of the new tramline, which will serve the site, improvements to the railway station and the dualling of the A453 were all crucial. As an international business, we rely on presenting a positive professional image and the units at Poplars Court were ideal."
The disposal of the last remaining 1,400 sq ft unit follows a successful period of sales at Poplars Court. The office scheme, speculatively built by developer Sladen Estates and PMB Holdings, has attracted a range of occupiers from financial advisers to graphic designers.
Innes England and FHP acted on behalf of Sladen Estates in the freehold sale.
Scott Osborne, associate director at Innes England in Nottingham, said: "The Poplars Court office presented a good opportunity for the business to move to bigger and better-quality premises.
"We continue to have a great deal of interest in the scheme, as it provides a chance to purchase sub-2,000 sq ft office space on a freehold basis, which is rare in and around Nottingham city centre."
Poplars Court comprises 16 office units of 1,400-1,600 sq ft.
Matt Sladen of Sladen Estates, said: "This latest sale means that we have sold over 80% of the development, with only four units remaining.
"We expect to be announcing news of a further deal soon."
