MANSFIELD Town have gone into the half time break of their crucial last league game of the season with a 1-0 lead. Stags boss Paul Cox named a strong attacking line-up, clearly showing his intentions of winning the game and taking Kidderminster out of the title battle. The home side had made a lot of the early running in the game against Wrexham, but stray passes showed that nerves had perhaps creeped into some of the player's minds. There could be no doubt who the better side was, but for all of their possession, the home team struggled to create much more than half chances. Town attacker Lee Stevenson had the best chances of the half, somehow missing a seemingly open goal from an Adam Chapman long throw and flicking stylishly from a Louis Briscoe cross – only for the ball to fly just wide. But the turning came when Briscoe beat his man in the box, only to be hauled down. Matt Green stepped up to take the spot kick and drilled the ball home into the bottom left corner of the net. Stags fans will be hoping their side can show a little more composure to add to their lead in the second half.
