A GP surgery is moving to new premises. The Peacock Surgery in Carlton Road is moving 400 yards up the road. The GP partners and staff at the surgery have been working with their patient group, local health organisations and other interested parties on the move - aiming to improve their service and provide a more modern and comfortable environment for patients. The surgery has been based on Carlton Road, Carlton, Nottingham, for nearly 30 years and will be moving to new premises in Carlton Hill, about 400 yards away on Thursday, April 25. The new surgery will boast an additional two multi-purpose clinics, and the new site will enable the practice to provide a number of extra options for care including expanded GP services, complementary health and wellbeing services and several patient groups ranging from a diabetes self-help group to a carers group. The GP practice has also been working in partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals Trust to develop a facility for the staff from the hospital to provide a musculoskeletal & sports injury service from the new surgery site. This arrangement is part of a longer term strategy to provide a wider choice of services closer to the community. Michael Orozco, Managing Partner at Peacock Surgery, said: "We were determined to improve patient services through this move and it has been a multi-agency approach from the outset with on-going support from our clinicians, our staff, Patient Participation Group, Nottingham North & East Clinical Commissioning Group, Nottinghamshire Primary Care Trust and many more. Without this support we would not have been able to achieve our goal." The surgery will be closed on the afternoon of Thursday 25 April and will re-open at the new location of 428 Carlton Hill, Carlton, Nottingham on Monday 29 April.
