Studying at the University of Nottingham could make you a millionaire, according to a new graduate 'rich list'. The list, which details universities where students are most likely to become multi-millionaires, ranks the university eighth out of 20. Nottingham has produced 92 alumni worth £20million or more, with the average super-rich graduate boasting a fortune of £22m. Mega-rich Nottingham alumni include Sir John Sawers. Compiled by Wealth-X, the 18-page report was put together by counting up the number of former students from each university who are believed to be worth at least £20million, taking into account their earnings, properties and other assets. The report features 20 universities with a total of 2,318 UHNW alumni. Oxford tops the list after producing 401 alumni worth £20million or more, and Cambridge is in second place with 361 - but Cambridge has the most billionaires. The average super-rich graduate from Cambridge has a fortune of £169million. LSE comes in third place and Imperial fourth, followed by London Business School, Manchester and UCL. Nottingham, ranked eighth, comes in above Edinburgh and Birmingham. But the University of Birmingham has the highest percentage of self-made millionaires. Mike Byrne, European Sales Director, Wealth-X, said: "17 out of the 24 Russell Group universities are featured in the report, which reflects the ability of such prestigious institutions to attract high calibre individuals, who proceed to create financial success."
