A 26-YEAR-OLD man was threatening to jump off a bridge in Nottingham this morning.
Notts Police were called to the scene at 7.45am on the A52 at the Silverdale Island.
The young man was threatening to jump off the bridge, but was persuaded not to by police. He was initially taken to the Queen's Medical Centre and is now in custody.
Roads were closed for around two hours, and reopened at around 9.30am.
Clifton resident Kevin Sheldon, 53, said: "My postman told me about what had happened.
"Apparently traffic had to be redirected through Ruddington.
"I do hope the person is okay."
