CREATIVE youngsters from Notts have had their talents recognised at an awards ceremony.
The Nottingham Young Creative Awards, which was launched in 2009, celebrates the imagination and artistic abilities of 13 to 24-year-olds.
The awards were held at the Nottingham Playhouse, with ten categories ranging from music to animation.
This year's theme was "Hidden Nottingham" and the awards were sponsored by businesses and organisations, including One Nottingham.
Councillor David Mellen, chairman of One Nottingham, said: "I am delighted to be here at the fifth annual Creative Awards – and what creativity we have in this city."
Each category was split into three age groups: 13 to 15-year-olds; 16 to 18-year-olds; and 19 to 24-year-olds.
In each age group and category, the judges picked a winner – who won a cash prize with their award – and a runner-up who was presented with a certificate.
The overall winner of the Young Creative of the Year award was Ashley Harvey, 22, who is studying digital media design at NCN. He was also winner of the film category for 19 to 24-year-olds.
His entry, called Explore, was a short experimental art film about "exploring Nottingham, being adventurous and seeing the city without rushing".
He said: "It took about two and a half months to make over winter, so it was cold but I went out every day.
"To win is crazy, out of this world and unexpected.
"It's my friend's 22nd birthday and I said if I win anything all the drinks would be on me – now I have won two prizes."
In addition to the £100 he was presented for winning the film category, Ashley was given £150 for being the overall Young Creative of the Year.
Organiser Erin Huckle, from Experience Nottinghamshire, said: "It has been great. It gives young people a platform to showcase their work."
"Quite a few entries have revealed different sides to Notts, and we are looking forward to sharing some of the work through different channels."
Stephanie Sirr, chief executive of Nottingham Playhouse, said: "We love working with creative young people and this is a fantastic way of celebrating them – what a talented bunch"
