A power cut knocked out supplies to around 600 customers in Nottingham city centre earlier today.
A fault in an underground cable caused the outage, which happened just before 5am.
A Western Power Distribution spokeswoman said engineers have re-routed power supplies to those affected to a different circuit.
The majority of the customers affected had their power back on within an hour of the fault, with everyone's supply back online by 7.15am.
Investigations are continuing as to where the fault occurred so that repairs can be made.
