Young people in Ilkeston are invited to a fun-filled event which will take place every Friday night for the following three weeks. The event, called Friday Vibe, has been organised by Erewash Community Safety Partnership and hosts a number of free activities for youths aged 11- 17 and living in Ilkeston. Some of the activities include a mobile climbing wall, mobile skate park, digital film workshops and arts and crafts. The first Friday Vibe will take place tonight Friday, May 24, between 6pm and 8pm, at Rutland Sports Park, West End Drive in Ilkeston. The following two events will take place Friday, May 31 and Friday, June 7 at the same times and location. Attending the sessions will be youth workers from Derbyshire County Council's Multi-Agency Team, Sporting Futures, Erewash Mobile Activities Team, local artists, and officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. Sgt John Troup, who manages the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams in the Ilkeston area, said: "This is a great opportunity for young people looking for something to do on a Friday night. "It's free and there is a great choice of activities to choose from." A signed parental consent form will be required at registration in order to take part which is available at www.erewashextreme.com. If you require any further information please call Community Safety at the Erewash Partnership on 0115 931 6054.
