A 21-YEAR old man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Long Eaton.
Derbyshire Police were called to the incident at around 9pm yesterday to an address in Cranmer Street.
When they arrived they found a the man, who had been stabbed, on the pavement. He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where he underwent surgery. He is now in a non-surgical ward and his condition is described as stable.
A police spokesman said: "The man was stabbed in the stomach area while in a flat.
"By the time officers arrived, he was lying on the pavement in the street."
A 41-year-old woman was arrested shortly afterwards in connection with the assault. She is detained at St Mary's Wharf police station in Derby and will be questioned later today.
A knife has been recovered.
