MANSFIELD Town chairman John Radford has made it clear manager Paul Cox has his full support following an indifferent start to the campaign.
The Stags finished third in the Blue Square Bet Premier last time out in Cox's first season in charge, losing to York in the play-offs.
But this season, despite investing in a bigger, more experienced squad, the Stags have stuttered and sit 14th in the table after 15 games.
Cox came under more fire following the 2-0 defeat at Dartford in their last league outing.
And on Saturday, they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by minnows Slough Town, at home in the first round of the FA Cup and now face a replay, with the winners away to either Lincoln or Walsall.
But it is the indifferent league form which has seen some supporters vent their anger towards the manager and team after last season's success.
However, Radford backed Cox and is fully confident Mansfield will rise up the table under his stewardship as they head to Nuneaton tomorrow night in the league.
Radford said: "The defeat at Dartford was disappointing and it hurts me when we lose.
"I am aware there are some supporters who are calling for a change in manager, but let me be clear – I am behind the manager, so support him.
"It is foolish to keep changing managers and we need the stability of a manager who is with us for a few seasons.
"We have a bigger squad than last season, with better quality players, but things have not yet quite gelled as well as they should. Hopefully we will start to see a turn in fortunes."
