A BABY boy was hit on the head by a stone thrown from a passing car in Ilkeston. Derbyshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 8pm on Thursday, June 13. The baby's mother was pushing the 10-month old along Nottingham Road in his pram at the time. Someone in the car, which is thought to be a silver Honda, threw stones out of the passenger window towards her, one of which hit her son on the head. The car then drove off. The baby suffered swelling to his head but was not seriously hurt. A spokeswoman for Derbyshire police said the incident was believed to be a random attack. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Andy MacAlister at Derbyshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
