Teachers' Gangnam Style video is YouTube hit

Teachers who filmed themselves dancing Gangnam Style round school corridors have become an internet hit - racking up thousands of views on YouTube. More than 40 staff from Mill Hill School in Ripley were involved in the end of term stunt, with teacher Huw Lloyd taking the lead role as singer Psy. More than 6,000 people have already watched the short film - six times the number of pupils at the school. It is a tradition at the school for teachers to shoot a film as part of the Year 11 leavers' celebrations.The video showed teachers in the school playground... Last year, 18 teachers danced to Run DMC's It's Like That, which received about 6,000 hits on YouTube in a year, and in 2011 the school re-enacted Peter Kay's version of Is This The Way To Amarillo. Mr Lloyd, who is Key Stage Four Director of Learning at Mill Hill, has taken a key role in all the films and said this year's was the biggest and best video yet....And on the roof of the school... He said: "It took a lot of planning and we had a sixth former, Michael Hawley, who did the editing and it looks very professional. "We started thinking about what we could do this year as soon as we finished last year's video really. "We were thinking about doing the Harlem Shake then because Gangnam Style was so big we thought it would be great to re-enact it. "There were between 40 and 50 staff involved and even a couple of staff members who had left the school came back and got involved with the filming."Even canteen staff got involved Mr Lloyd said all the footage was shot after school and in teachers' own time. He said: "We keep it a secret from the leavers so we had to make sure it was all filmed when they wouldn't be in school. "We showed it to the students in the leavers' assembly and they absolutely loved it, they were in fits of laughter. "It's a great way of saying goodbye to the students who are leaving and a way of showing them that teachers are human." Watch last year's Run DMC dance off here
