CHEESE that was not produced for 20 years continued its comeback at a monthly food and drink market on Saturday. Colwick Cheese, a soft, curdy cheese - first made in the 1600s - was on sale at the Netherfield Farmers' Market. The once popular local cheese was revived in May this year by the chairman of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie Association, Matthew O'Callaghan. Netherfield and Colwick Councillor Meredith Lawrence, who attended the Farmers' Market, said: "It's great to see this cheese being made again so that we can enjoy it near to where it was originally produced." The Netherfield Farmers' Market runs on the third Sunday of each month. The next one is on Saturday August 17 between 10am and 4pm.
