A thief posing as a customer has snatched thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from a shop in Beeston.
The man went into Onyx Goldsmiths, in High Road, and asked to see a number of gold necklaces that were displayed in a black velvet wrap.
He then waited for other customers to leave before snatching the wrap and running off.
After leaving the shop, officers believe the suspect was joined by another man who had been waiting outside.
The pair then made off in the direction of Endsleigh Gardens where they got into a silver Renault Kangoo van which had been parked in the street.
The owner of the shop, Erica Mucenieks, said: "This incident has left all members of my team both distressed and outraged.
"We are determined to not let it affect our livelihood and despite the ordeal we have continued with business as usual.
"I would urge anyone with information, regardless of how irrelevant it may appear, to call police immediately."
Police believe two men seen on CCTV could have vital information about the burglary which happened just before 2.30pm on Friday 12 October 2012.
One of the men in the images is white, about 6ft tall, of broad build and aged in his 40s. He had stubble and was wearing dark trousers or tracksuit bottoms, a black jacket and white top.
The other man was black or Asian, of medium build, and was wearing a black cap, black trousers and a purple jacket.
PC Steve Butler said: "This was a calculated crime in which the suspect acted as a customer, feigning interest in a number of necklaces in order to stall the shop assistant and seize his moment.
"He waited until the shop was empty before snatching the wrap and its expensive contents with the employee only able to react by raising the alarm.
"Despite being uninjured, the shop assistant was extremely shaken by the ordeal so I would urge people to think back to that day, were you in Beeston around lunch time?
"Did you see anyone acting suspiciously or a silver Renault Kangoo waiting in a street for some time? The information you have could greatly assist officers with their investigation."
