REBECCA Adlington broke down in tears on I'm a Celebrity following a heated debate on image.
The double Olympic gold-medallist, from Mansfield, admitted to feeling "insecure" with her looks due to the public's perception of female beauty.
She was comforted by Eastenders star Laila Morse after the exchange with Miss Universe Amy Willerton.
"She [Amy] doesn't know what it's like on a day to day basis. She's stick thin, she's got these push up bras that make her boobs seem massive. She's stunning," Rebecca told Laila.
"To me it's not to do with her as a person. It's the image she portrays that girls should be stick thin and beautiful."
Notts' other contestant Lucy Pargeter, who stars in Emmerdale, was at the heart of the debate.
"Do you ever feel like a piece of meat?" she asked Amy, who replied "no, never".
Lucy queried how attitudes towards women's body sizes would ever change unless Miss Universe was awarded to girls of all shapes and sizes.
"Surely you're self-perpetuating the industry by looking the way you do and entering these things instead of trying to do it by looking a little bit different," Lucy said.
"If you look like you that's an awful lot easier than for someone who is self-doubting and going, 'that's what I'm supposed to look like'".
Amy argued that she knows what it's like not to feel beautiful and said she suffered from acne and wore braces as a 15-year-old and that it was human nature to make vicious comments.
Before her breakdown, Rebecca said: "It's also making me very, very insecure that I have to look a certain way. For me, I was an athlete, I wasn't trying to be a model, but pretty much every single week on Twitter I get somebody commenting on the way I look."
