AN intrepid fundraiser is appealing for help to complete an epic charity challenge. Will Moore, of Radcliffe-on-Trent, has donned his leathers and is biking from London to Johannesburg unaccompanied and without the use of a GPS, but he has been hit by a mechanical problem. The 45-year-old former servicemen is stuck in war-torn Mali, in West Africa, unable to complete his charity ride as his bike's suspension broken. Will has almost used all his cash and is appealing for people to help him complete the task as well as raise a more significant total for wounded ex-servicemen. Will, who has raised more than £5,000 for Help the Heroes, said: "One big downside is that my rear shock absorber has gone. It's unique and Suzuki don't sell this bike here, so I will have to courier a shock absorber from the UK. "I've had £85 donated. But the cost of shipping a rear shock absorber and tyre, plus fitting, will be more like £300. I can't cover the cost plus visas etc for the next ten countries. "Please don't just hope someone else will do it, because they will be thinking the same. I'm stuck here in war-torn Mali with my fingers crossed. "I've got about £1,500 to my name. And with a dozen more visas, fuel and food to pay for, I'm getting desperate for a bit of charity myself. "The further and longer I go, the more charity donations we receive. If you like what I am doing, please make a donation." Will's trip from London has seen him bike through Western Europe and more than 4,000 kilometres. In order to make Johannesburg he will have to ride for another 6,000 kilometres. And for the Nottingham Forest fan, the cause is worthwhile. He said: "This challenge, despite mine and others' best efforts, has only raised £100 in the past two weeks. "It's about helping men and women who have served our country and returned in a wheelchair, their arms and legs blown off by IEDs."
