A 23-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged with murder after the death of a seven-year-old girl in Bestwood Park.
Kay-Ann Morris, of Beckhampton Road, will appear before Nottingham magistrates on Monday August 4.
A post-mortem examination revealed the preliminary cause of the child's death to be a head injury.
A 47-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released.
Morris was arrested on Thursday July 31 after police were called to a house in Beckhampton Road with concerns for the child's safety.
Tributes have since been paid to the "stunning little girl".
Shocked residents of the street described her death as "tragic" and "frightening".
Morris will remain in police custody until her appearance at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, in Carrington Street.
Notts Police are continuing to ask for information.
