BEESTON Hockey trio Adam Dixon, Ollie Willars and Harry Martin helped England men's team end a run of fourth place finishes to bag bronze at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
A thrilling tussle with New Zealand saw the score 3-3 at full-time, but England came through the resulting penalty shootout, 4-2.
The women's team had lost their shoot-out the night before, to finish with silver, but former Beeston keeper George Pinner played his part in securing victory.
After falling behind, a hectic end to the first half saw three goals in as many minutes, with England taking the lead before being pegged back to 2-2 – through Alastair Brogdon and Ashley Jackson.
Jackson then put his side back in front after the break, but once again, New Zealand responded, taking it to a shoot-out.
