A large fire has broken out at the University of Nottingham, on the Jubilee Campus.
Reports and photos of the fire began to emerge on Twitter at around 9.30pm on Friday night.
The fire is believed to be at the GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry.Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "We have 10 crews at a building fire on Triumph Road, Radford.
"Please avoid the area and please only call our control room with new information."
The service added that 50 firefighters were at the scene and were joined by police, who were using a helicopter to check the spread of the blaze.
Harry Copson, the President of the University's Student Union tweeted: "The new development building on Jubilee is on fire - don't know any more than that now but very much hope no one hurt."
