NOTTS County produced an impressive display to draw 0-0 at promotion chasing Peterborough United.
New signing Louis Laing, on loan from neighbours Nottingham Forest, played his part in keeping out an attack minded Posh side on debut.
Peterborough new boy Marcus Maddison was the first to threaten as he appealed for a foul in the box by Haydn Hollis, but the recent signing from Gateshead was booked for simulation.
The best chance of the first half fell to Notts as Reece Brown let the ball run through to Liam Noble, who passed up the chance to shoot before setting up Jake Cassidy to miss the target.
In the closing stages of the half, a free-kick by Jon Taylor on the right picked out the head of Jack Baldwin inside the six-yard box, but Roy Carroll pulled off a fantastic save.
The second half saw fewer clear-cut chances. Peterborough were appealing for a penalty against Hollis again when Kyle Vassell went to ground, but nothing was given.
They had the last chance in the final seconds when a slip by Gary Jones set-up Maddison, but he could not cash in.
