NOTTINGHAM City Transport has been shortlisted for two national bus awards for its social media activity and overall company performance.
It is the 11th year in a row that the firm has been nominated for a UK Bus Award.
This year, it is up for the Making Buses a Better Choice: the Peter Huntley Memorial Award for harnessing communication technology and social media to make services more attractive to customers.
Marketing manager Anthony Carver-Smith said: "We have been a huge fan of social media for a while now and have found the platforms to be an invaluable way of communicating with our customers – and importantly, they're also a fantastic way our customers can communicate directly with us.
"Nearly 25,000 people follow us on social media, making us the most followed bus operator in the region. Together with our website, which receives an average of 400,000 page views a month, and our mobile phone app we're keeping up to speed with advancements in communications technology for our customers."
The company has also been shortlisted in the City Operator of the Year category.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on November 29.
