Staff at Monarch Airlines have agreed to pay cuts of up to 30 per cent in order to secure the future of the business.
The decision comes following a strategic review, led by chief executive Andrew Swaffield, and affects 79 Monarch staff including cabin crew, pilots and engineers.
On average 90 per cent of staff voted in favour of the proposed changes.
The airline recently announced it would cease flying from East Midlands Airport in April 2015.
Monarch is currently transforming itself from a charter carrier to a low-cost airline and as a result of this are focusing on offering customers greater flight frequency and more sociable departure times.
Andrew Swaffield, Monarch Group CEO, said: "This vote represents another step forward in our efforts to transform Monarch and demonstrates a commitment from every member of the Monarch workforce."
Oliver Richardson, National Officer of UNITE, said: "Our priority is the welfare and longer term job security of our members.
"Although the discussions over the past few weeks have been difficult and our members are sacrificing a lot, what is clear is that they remain committed to the future of Monarch and have voted accordingly."
Monarch Airlines currently flies to nine destinations from East Midlands Airport including Alicante, Tenerife, Palma and Ibiza.
