A possible Eurofighter Typhoon plane has been spotted flying low over Nottinghamshire.
Andy Hallam, of Toton, said he was in his garden at around 7.30pm on Tuesday when he heard a loud noise.
The 35-year-old, who lives in Hamilton Close, added: "I was with my two little boys and my wife at the time; the kids both covered their ears. As I looked up it came over my house. I am 99 per cent sure it was a Eurofighter Typhoon plane.
"It was a lot lower than I have ever seen a plane flying over here. It was on its own and seemed a bit out of place. It looked like it has gone straight over Chetwynd Barracks, but I have no idea why."
Matt Goold, publisher of The Beestonian magazine, said he also heard the plane from his house, in Attenborough.
He said: "We often have planes going fairly low but this seemed very loud and kept getting louder. It drowned out everything. I looked outside but I couldn't see anything. My neighhbours were all looking out their windows too.
"I put a message on The Beestonian Facebook Page. Normally we get around 1,000 views but this got four to five thousand views in a couple of hours. It was very well received and a lot of people said they had heard the plane too. The suggestion was that it was doing a training maneuver over Chetwynd Barracks, but I can't verify that, it is just what people have been saying."
Mr Goold had also heard it was a Eurofighter Typhoon plane.
