Fashion designer Chetna has failed to make it through to the Great British Bake Off final after crumbling under the pressure of making the perfect pastry in tonight's show.

The 35-year failed to impress judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with her Indian inspired version of baklava and schichttorte in the semi final with Mary commenting that her first flaky offering was mainly filling and a bit too heavy.

Problems seemed to plague the mum-of-two with her second entremets struggling to set in the freezer before the judges put their forks in.

Talking about Chetna's orange chocolate show-stopper, Mary Berry was disappointed.

She said: "It is very good but it could have been a bit neater.

"I would have liked a lighter colour

"I'm loosing the orange, I'm just getting a chocolate cake mix flavour all the way down."

Fellow judge Paul Hollywood added: "She was unfortunately the weakest one, but it was out of a very strong pack."

After being voted off Chetna said: "I will take away so much, such amazing memories and friends and so much knowledge."

Jordan Cox, 33, of Sneinton, who was voted of earlier in the series said: "It was the most technical Bake Off of all the shows and I have nothing but respect and awe for all my fellow bakers.

"Chetna is in Broadstairs at the moment at a food fair where she is watching the show with all the other stall holders.

"I will be very very disappointed if she doesn't start selling her amazing chutney's, they were famous on the show and after the final Paul told her that she should set up a little market stall just as he had done with his bread."

This weeks star baker went to Richard for the fifth time.
