East Midlands Trains Services have been hit by delays after a woman was struck by a train.
British Transport Police have confirmed there was a fatality on the Midland Mainline route between Nottingham and London.
The incident is believed to have taken place on the border between Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
A tweet from East Midlands Trains said that delays caused were "sadly due to a person being hit by a train."

A statement from the British Transport Police said: "We were called to the line in Souldrop, near
"We attended the scene alongside colleagues from Northamptonshire Police and East of England Ambulance Service and a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and officers are working to identify the woman and inform her family.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Update 3.15pm: East Midlands Trains tweeted that the line to London was still experiencing delays following the earlier incident.
