POLICE investigating an incident where a man grabbed a girl in a Carlton street made an arrest.
The 29-year-old was questioned by police yesterday and bailed pending further inquiries. It follows an incident on Monday when the 12-year-old girl was approached from behind by a man at around 7.40pm at the junction of West View Road and Heather Road.
The stranger tried to lift her from the ground, but the girl escaped from his grasp and he fled. The girl was unharmed.
Detective Sergeant Paul Lefford said: "While we have made an arrest we are still appealing to witnesses."
