With Disney's Frozen fever refusing to cool off, parents have welcomed plans to bring a budget-line of merchandise to the city - the largest in the UK.
Nottingham's fourth and biggest Poundworld will open, in Milton Street, on Thursday November 13 with the budget chain's bosses anticipating queues and hysteria over the £1 toys.
At the end of last month two women were seen scrapping at a new Poundworld store, in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, over some Frozen-themed products.
Kate Taylor, whose daughter Phoebe, won the Post's Frozen singing competition, said with Christmas round the corner it would be a "good cheaper option".
The 32-year-old from West Bridgford, added: "If you want a good selection of Frozen toys, just stocking fillers, you are talking over a £100.
"I'm sure every single parent will be popping in to have a look.
"Phoebe is only four and it is extremely hard trying to explain that something costs £30, so a few cheaper things are a good idea."
More than 2,000 shoppers queued for the opening of the South Wales Poundworld hoping to get their hands on Frozen merchandise including lip balm, moneyboxes and stationery - everything sold out in 40 minutes.
Anticipating a similar frenzy when the Nottingham store opens at 10am the store has limited the number of Frozen purchases to 50 per customer.
Mum Danielle DeJonge, 31, said her daughter Paige Bagshaw, three, watches the blockbuster at least three times a day at weekends.
Ms DeJonge, of Chilton Close, Arnold, said: "I buy the dolls and the plush toys from the Disney Store but things like plates, cutlery and jewellry I get from the pound shop.
"Paige uses her Frozen plate all the time and if it only costs £1 then it doesn't matter how much she uses it."
The Trinity Square-based mega store will span more than 8,000 square feet and the Frozen range will include 100 different Frozen items.
Professor of Gambling Studies at Nottingham Trent University Mark Griffiths said: "Almost every Christmas something new captures children's imaginations, it won't be the same craze next year.
"People no matter what age love trying to finish a collection so it won't stop at buying the DVD, it will be the dolls and the costumes.
"It is no different from someone older collecting records or stamps."
As part of the opening celebrations, Elsa and Olaf the snowman will be at the store from Thursday until Saturday to entertain children and shoppers.
